The goal of Southern York County Warriors Fall Cheerleading is to provide an instructional recreation program for children in kindergarten through 6th grade. Our program supports SYC Warriors Football by cheering sidelines of away and home season football games. We provide a fun environment for your child to learn cheers, dance, tumbling and stunting.

SYC Youth Rec Warriors Cheerleading is now open for registration for anyone who resides in Southern York County and will be in kindergarten through 6th grade starting August 2025.

Practices are mandatory the first week of the season - Aug, 4, 5 and 6. Following that week, practices will be Monday and Wednesday evenings anytime from 5:30-7:30 depending on the team and will be held at Shrewsbury Elementary. Practices may (in coach's discretion) reduce to one evening per week midway through the season. When you register, please make sure your contact information is up to date, so coaches can contact you with more information.

Games start Aug.23, and are on Saturday or Sunday afternoons/evenings at Susquehannock High School or at other schools for away games.

Registration cost is $150, which includes our program fee, uniform, hair bow, medal, and a small banquet fee. This also covers required facility usage, administrative and insurance costs of the youth club. 

*New this year…cheerleaders will keep their uniform!! A portion of registration costs cover the uniform. Family participation in our season fundraiser will be essential to ensure we maintain a strong program and keep registration costs at a minimum. There will be two uniform fittings prior to the season - please save the date for June 5 or July 2. 

Warmups are optional and may be purchased on a spiritwear website. The site link will be provided post-registration. Cheerleaders may keep and use their warmups for subsequent years.

Pom-poms will be available for purchase for $20 and may be used for future years. 

On your own, you must purchase:

- No-show white socks.

- Black leggings and black shorts.

- Cheer shoes. Basic white sneakers may be acceptable if your child does not intend to be a flyer; however, all flyers must wear appropriate cheer shoes for the safety of themselves and those basing them.

Summer camp is scheduled for June 10-12, from 6-8 p.m. Please make sure to register!!

Parents, we want you! Are you interested in volunteering? We are looking for coaches, assistant coaches, team parents, and behind-the-scenes volunteers! Adult clearances are required. Please contact the Cheer Director, Katie Hamilton, at [email protected].

Practices will start mid-late August and games will start the weekend after Labor Day and run through mid-late October.

The K-2 program will be a clinic-style program where the players will learn the basic skills and gain knowledge of the game. There will be 1-2 practices per week, until games start. Games will typically be on Saturdays or Sundays. The team will play games/scrimmages with other local teams (Windsor, Dallastown, Southwestern, Littlestown and Hereford Rec) and possibly participate in Play Days with Northern MD teams within an hour drive. Play days typically occur on Saturdays where the team will play approximately 3 games against other K-2 teams.

K-2 Program will play games/scrimmages at SHS, Miller Family Park, Windsor, Dallastown, Southwestern, Littlestown

The 3/4 and 5/6 teams will play in a local with Littlestown, Windsor, Southwest and Dallastown. There will be 2 practices per week, until games start. Games will typically be on Saturdays or Sundays. . This is the fifth year for this league and hope it continues to grow in the future. Pre tournament at Littlestown will be Saturday, August 16.

SYC Youth Tackle Football is available this Fall to anyone entering grades Kindergarten through 7^th Grade in the Fall of 2025
