SYC Youth Field Hockey

Goal: Our goal is to bring a youth field hockey program to our community where we can introduce the sport, basic skills and game knowledge to prepare our youth for higher levels of play in the future.  We hope to build a fun and competitive team environment where kids can practice and learn the foundational skills of field hockey and grow in their knowledge and love of the game.

Registration Listing

2026 Fall Field Hockey 3/4 and 5/6

Description:
Practices will start mid August and games will start late August and run through mid October.

The 3/4 and 5/6 teams will play in a local with Littlestown, Red Lion, Southwest and Dallastown. There will be 2 practices per week. Games will typically be on Saturdays or Sundays. This is the sixth year for this league and hope it continues to grow in the future. Pre tournament (Optional- additional fee) at Littlestown will be Saturday, August 15. Mid Season tournament, Saturday, September 26 in Bel Air at Harford Hockey Fest. End of season tournament will be Sunday, October 18th at South Western.
 
Age Groups / Fees:
$130 Grades 3/4
$130 Grades 5/6

Program fees include a uniform (reversible pinnie), a field hockey ball, mid season/ end of season tournament fee, other league/ref fees, administration/insurance and other general fees.
 
Location:
Practices at Susquehannock High School (SHS) and/or Miller Family Park, Miller Park Drive, Shrewsbury PA.
3/4 and 5/6 teams will have games at SHS turf, Red Lion, Southwestern, Littlestown, or Dallastown, Bermudian Springs.

Equipment that Players will be Responsible For Providing:
Field Hockey Stick (size should be about hip height)
Mouth Guard (molded)
Reversible Shin Guards (white/black or white and black socks/shin guard covers to be worn over shin guards)
Goggles (Optional but highly recommended)
Sneakers and/or Cleats
Black shorts or black field hockey skirt (optional)

5/6 - Field Hockey

2026 Fall Field Hockey K-2

Description:
Practices will start mid August and games will start end of August and run through early October.

The K-2 program will be a clinic-style program where the players will learn the basic skills and gain knowledge of the game. There will be 1-2 practices per week, until games start. Games will typically be on Sundays. The team will play games/scrimmages with other local teams (Red Lion, Dallastown, South western, Littlestown, etc).
 
Age Groups / Fees:
$90 Grades K-2

Program fees include a uniform (reversible pinnie), a field hockey ball, other league/ref fees, administration/insurance and other general fees.
 
Location:
Practices at Miller Family Park, Miller Park Drive, Shrewsbury PA.
K-2 Program will play games/scrimmages at SHS, Miller Family Park, Red Lion, Dallastown, South western, Littlestown
Maryland locations: Manchester, Sykesville, Hereford

2026 Field Hockey Summer Mini Camp

Description:
Learn or brush up on basic field hockey skills, play games, build friendships and get active! All levels of experience are welcome! This camp will provide an introduction to Field Hockey for players that are new to the game to build basic skills and game knowledge and for players that are more experienced to improve their skills as well as learn new ones. The camp coaches will be SYC/local coaches and SHS Junior High and JV/Varsity players. Note: There will be a maximum of 10-12 campers per coach.
 
The 2026 SYC Warrior Field Hockey Mini Camp is a 4 day morning camp from June 1st- June 4th.

Tentative Daily Schedule:
8:45 - 9:00 Check In
9:00-9:50 Session 1 (Warm Up / Stretch/ Stick Skills)
9:50- 10 Water Break/Bathroom Break/Snack
10-10:50 Session 2 (Stations /Drills)
11-11:30 (Small Games/Scrimmages)
11:30- Pickup
 
Age Range:
Open to girls and boys who will be in the grade level K-6th grade as of Fall 2026
 
Cost: $100
 
Location: SHS Field Hockey Front Grass Field & Turf 3280 Fissels Church Road, Glen Rock, PA 17327
