College Scholarship
Scholarship Description: (Not an athletic scholarship)
The Lexington Soccer Association is proud to announce our college scholarship program. This program offers college scholarships to graduating students each year. There will be a boys and girls division with.
A $1000 Scholarship will be awarded to the first place boy and girl.
These scholarships are awarded through an L.S.A. committee. This committee will take into account the student's overall life experiences to date. The student's high school and community activities will also be taken into consideration, as well as letters of recommendation. The scholarships are not awarded strictly on the basis of athletic involvement, academic achievement, or financial need, although these factors will be considered.
The scholarships will be applied directly to the student's financial account at the college or technical school of attendance after the successful completion of the first term of the school year.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be a graduate of Lexington High School in this current year.
You must attend an accredited college or technical school.
You must have played for a team associated with the Lexington Soccer Association for a minimum of two years.
Participation in high school soccer is NOT a requirement.
Maintain a 1.7 average or better in the first term of college.
Please provide two letters of recommendation. One letter needs to be from teacher or school personnel.
Applications will be accepted starting March 15th at the Student Services Office at the Lexington High School. All applications must be received by April 27th 2015.
