Practices

Teams may practice on any piece of flat ground that they can find. Most of our teams utilize the Lexington park areas. You may use Patriot Park and Slack Field. The procedure is usually first come first serve. All of our coaches have been very accommodating in the past and helped make room for other teams. During busy times, teams may utilize half of a lined field to make room for other teams. Please work together to help improve the quality of each player’s experience.

Bicentennial Park fields are reserved for LSA's State League players.  State leagues require scheduled practices and guaranteed fields.  The LSA schedules these fields for them.  Please review the [Bicentennial calendar] to make sure you can practice on open field times.

How to structure a practice?
     º
Develop a practice schedule. (Example)
º     Use cones and flags to set up your practice field.
º     Allow players to play soccer. Players learn best by playing the game.
º     Talk with others at the practice area and set up some scrimmages with other teams.
º     Please notify LSA if you would like to contact other coaches in your age group to set up scrimmages.
º     Review US Soccer’s Best Practices manual describing how to hold effective practices.
º     This manual also helps you understand at what level your age group should be playing at. (Best Practices)
