Membership Meetings
The Lexington Soccer Association is comprised of a Board of Directors, Executive Committee and general membership. The general membership shall be composed of parents or guardians of team members, and other individuals approved by the Executive Committee or Board of Directors. Only parents of team members, coaches, referees, and sponsors shall be automatic members. The Executive Committee is composed of each team’s head coach or his/her designate representative. Each of the members of the Executive Committee shall have one vote. The Board of Directors shall consist of a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Registrar, Scheduler, and BOR. These officers are elected each November by the general membership to a one year term.
The Lexington Soccer Association holds regular monthly meetings for both board members and general membership. The Board of Directors shall meet at least once a month during January, February, March, April, May, August, September, October and November. The general membership shall meet at least once a month during February, March, May, and August as requested by the Board of Directors. Elections will take place each November comprised of the general membership. There are two mandatory meetings for the Executive Committee (Coach or team representative), one in March and the Elections in November. The AYSA also holds a mandatory meeting in August to cover rules and regulations of the AYSA.
The general membership meetings give every member a voice in the operations of the LSA. Members can participate by sharing their knowledge, skill and abilities. They may also provide ideas, suggestions and concerns governing the operations of the organization. It is vital for the success of this organization to have regular participation from its general membership.
