Laws of the Game

Laws of the Game:

The AYSA has produced a Coaches handbook to help coaches familiarize themselves with coaching in the AYSA.  You may download the coach’s booklet with the rules and regulations for AYSA soccer.  Please familiarize yourself with this booklet as it will answer many of your questions.  Please take special note of sections 2.1, 2.11, 2.12, 2.14, 5.0, 6.1.
[Coach’s Handbook]

FIFA Laws of the Game is the standard rule for all LSA soccer play.  The AYSA has amended these rules to accommodate small sided play.  Small Sided Play is when younger players play on a smaller field with fewer players on a team.  US Youth Soccer small sided rules apply to these younger teams.  US Youth Soccer small sided rules are amendments to the FIFA Laws of the Game, so where US Youth Soccer small sided rules do not apply refer to FIFA Laws of the Game.
