DYC 2026 Baseball

DYC offers seven different age levels for our baseball program, where all kids play regardless of skill level.

Seasons consist of with 10-12 games plus playoffs at most levels.

If you are unsure or your proper division, please contact the commissioners.

T-Ball 4/5/6 - Instructional league focusing on teaching fundamentals, with an emphasis on sportsmanship and teamwork. While T-ball is offered to both girls and boys, DYC also offers a 6U Instructional Softball division for girls.

Instructional (formerly Pinto 7U) - Still focusing on teaching, this division incorporates more baseball concepts with a combination of coach pitch and Tee. This division is good for players 6-7 years olds. 60' bases. 7 year olds with at least 1 year of Coach Pitch would be better suited for Pinto 8U.

Pinto 8U- The same rules as Instructional, but now with kid pitch. No walks. Suitable for all 7 and 8 year olds or anyone with at least 1 year Coach Pitch experience. 40' pitching distance and 60' bases.

Mustang 9U/10U- More advanced baseball with stealing. 46' pitching distance and 60' bases.

Bronco 11U/12U- Full baseball rules under PONY Baseball including lead-offs, stealing and balks. 50' pitching distance and 70' bases. Away games may be held in nearby towns.

Pony 13U/14U- Full baseball rules under PONY Baseball. 54' pitching mound and 80' bases. Away games may be held in nearby towns.

Cut-off dates are determined by the child's age before May 1st. Please refer to the Pony Age Key.

Pinto, Mustang, Bronco and Pony divisions will have Playoffs at the end of the season. T-ball and Instructional will have an Olympic Day for all participants at the end of the season.

Playing up - if you would like your child to play up above their designated division, please contact your division director.

There will not be games scheduled over the Memorial Day or the 4th of July weekends.

Spring Soccer Referee 2026

The DYC is looking for soccer referees ages 13 and older for the upcoming spring season. All games will be held on Saturday mornings and early afternoons, so only register if you will be available at those times.

A mandatory soccer referee orientation/training will be held on Saturday, April 18th from 1-5pm for all new and returning referees, at the Darien Police Department Meeting Room.
