BackgroundThe Darien Youth Club is offering four scholarships. These monies are being awarded to assist students in financing their education at a university, college, business or technical school. The Scholarship Committee has the final responsibility for the selection of the winners and the amount of each award.
EligibilityThe applicant:-must be a senior male or female currently enrolled in a public or private high school.-must have participated in a minimum of four seasons in the sports programs sponsored by the Darien Youth Club.-must have participated two years in a varsity sport at his/her school.-must have maintained a minimum “C” average over a seven semester period.-must be accepted or applied for acceptance at a university, college, business or technical school.-must submit two letters of recommendation from teachers or high school coaches.-must have a class ranking in the top 50th percentile.-must submit a short essay on the topic “The Value I Gained from Participation in DYC Sports Programs”.-must submit completed Release of Information Waiver.-must submit the Application Form and supporting documents to the Darien Youth Club Scholarship Committee postmarked no later than the deadline.For 2024, the deadline is Friday, March 15, 2024.To download the application form, click here.
