SOTG Coaches

Our Coaches

Stewards of the Game coaches are the most valuable volunteers we have. Therefore, we are committed to providing the training and tools necessary to successfully equip our coaches to deliver the fundamentals to help serve your child in a TRANSFORMATIONAL way, not a TRANSACTIONAL way. While our coaches are not perfect, they are trained and encouraged to help your child devlop notonly their athletic abilities, but their character as well. Stewards Coaches should be committed to helping your child...

1.     Become a leader both on and off the field.

2.     Develop his/her athletic ability and love for the game

3.     Learn important life lessons that transcend the sport itself and will carry on throughout the rest of his/her life.

Let’s face it. Coaches are often some of the most influential people in the life of any person. Whether it’s good or bad, coaches have an incredible impact on and influence in the lives for those they coach from season to season. Everyone still remembers their favorite and least favorite coach from their childhood.

High Standards for Our Coaches

Stewards of the Game requires all of our head and assistant coaches to complete a background check, as well as, attend a mandatory pre-season Coaches Meeting and Coaches Clinic.  Stewards of the Game is a faith-driven league and our Head Coaches must affirm our belief statement. We want to make certain that our head coaches have a faith foundation that is congruent with the life lessons we want to teach our kids. If we were a French class, we would want our head coaches to speak “French.”

Remember, however, that Stewards of the Game coaches are volunteers. They are not perfect, and we do not expect them to be. Over the years, Stewards of the Game coaches have developed an unspoken code of accountability with one another. Stewards of the Game is committed to doing all it can to provide your child with well-equipped coaches in a fun and safe environment.
