2020 SPRING VOLLEYBALL DIVISIONS

(Based on age as of August 31st, 2020*)

Girls Age Divisions:
Diggers (8-12 yo)
Spikers (12-16 yo)

COST - $195 per player

Price for the Diggers Division (8-12 yr olds) includes a game jersey that the players will keep.

NOTE: Parents are responsible for supplying a pair of black spandex shots, (no shorter than 4" inseam please). Tennis shoes (volleyball shoes are recommended, but not required) and knee pads (optional). Cover-up shorts may be worn if they are SOLID BLACK with the BLACK 4" Spandex worn underneath.

Price for the Spikers Division (13-16 yr olds) includes a practice jersey that the players will keep, along with a sublimated team jersey, which must be returned at end of the season. There will be a $60 lost/damaged fee if not returned.

SKILLS WEEK (mid to late February):

Skills Week / Player Evaluations are held in late February. This is to reduce anxiety for younger/new players, ensure ALL players start out with some knowledge of the FUNdamentals which serves as a foundation for the TEAM coaches to build upon throughout the season.

During these Skills clinics, we will introduce:
- Rules of the Game
- Passing Technique (Underhand, Overhand)
- Setting Technique (Footwork and Hand position)
- Serving Technique (Overhand)
- Hitting/Attack Basics

More information will be emailed out by our volleyball coordinator prior to the start of the season.

PRACTICES (March - May):
Team practices and games will focus on teaching players sound, age-appropriate FUNdamentals by running players through fun-filled “Skills & Drills” that provide players with the multiple repetitions they need to further develop their mechanics.

DIGGERS will practice ONE night per week for 1 hour 30 minutes (Tuesday or Thursday).
SPIKERS will have TEAM Practice ONE night per week for 2 hours (older) and ONE optional/EXTRA practice night (Monday, Tuesday or Thursday)
