(Grades PreK-2nd, Co-ed)
YC Youth Baseball offers two recreational/development leagues for younger players:
T-Ball (Prek - Kindergarteners), must be 5 by September 1st.
The T-Ball league is set to teach kids the fundamental instructional process, not game competitiveness. The T-Ball season starts at the beginning of April and games will start the week of April 21st and run until the week of June 9th. There will be 2 practices held during the week until games begin then they will just play games. All kids should hear from their coach by April 1st.
Jr. Miniors (1st and 2nd graders)
The Jr. Miniors league is a developmental league designed for all players to maximize their exposure to all of the variables of baseball and to further enhance the fundamental skills learned in T-Ball. All players will rotate through all positions-safety and ability being a priority-to develop and gain awareness of the baseball field from all the different positions. Children will pitch, but it will be a mix of coach and player pitch games. The goal of the Jr. Midget League is for the players to get exposure to all of the positions and most importantly have fun.
The Junior Mniors season starts at the end of March and the season runs until mid-June. Games will be held on Tuesday and Thursday if all possible. Games will begin the week of April 21st and run until the week of June 9th. There will be a end of the year tournament held in Forest Grove on May 31st-June 1st to close out the season. These teams will be split up to create teams of equal ability. There are usually 2-3 practices/games per week held in the evenings. There are generally no weekend games (the exception being the end of season tournament or make-ups).
