YC Wrestling Club
Wrestling is fantastic because it teaches life skills such as discipline, integrity, accountability, and perseverance. If you have ever thought about wrestling or just want to see what our sport is all about, please feel free to come check the program out. YC Wrestling Club is a chartered USA Wrestling program that allows our youth to compete at various ages and weight classes. USA Wrestling also provides separate groups for boys and girls, if that is a concern for parents. You can see a full list of age groups and weights for each gender here. We also provide all three styles of wrestling to participate in.
Divisions
Cost: $60 + $46 USA Wrestling Membership (paid on USA wrestling Website or Button to right)
Ages: Grades K-8th
League: USA Wrestling - Oregon Wrestling Association (OWA)
Registration Deadline: December 30th 2019
Practices: Tuesday and Thursday (8th grade possible Mon and Wednesday) 6-7:30 PM at the Wrestling Room at YCHS
Meets: Saturday , mornings at various high schools. See OWA website for an updated list of local tournaments
Middle School Team: Will practice with K-8 teams, but have different meets in the middle of the week. MVCC league.

Divisions
Folkstyle/ Collegiate Style: Boys and Girls grades K-8th will wrestle from October through January. There are also other opportunities that allow for kids to wrestle passed the Oregon Kids State Tournament in Greco and Freestyle wrestling. Please refer to the handout that I will give you at parent night for divisions and classes.
Freestyle and Greco-Roman Style: Boys and girls divisions also exist in these styles of wrestling. K- 18 + opportunities exist as well. Freestyle and Greco will began a week after fokstyle ends.
Coaching
At this time we have fantastic line-up of coaching with tons of experience with success at each level.
When and Where are Tournaments?
Meets are at various places on Wednesday afternoons (Middle School Only) and Saturday mornings (K-8). A calendar of events, practices and schedule times will be constantly posted. You can also check the YC Wrestling Facebook page for upcoming events and schedule changes. Also, you can see a list of USA Wrestling Oregon sponsored events here. Please keep in mind that there are multiple locations to pick from and as the season moves forward more tournaments will become available on Saturdays. For example, there may be a tournament at Banks during the same time as Eugene.
When and Where are Practices?
Folkstyle/Collegiate - Practices are held at the high school gymnasium wrestling room on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 6-7:30 PM. IF THERE IS A BASKETBALL GAME ON THOSE DATES AND TIMES WE WILL HAVE TO SCHEDULE AROUND THAT. Please refer to the calendar for when this occurs.
Freestyle/Greco-Roman - Practices are held at the same location, however, practice times are as follows: Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 6-7:30 PM.
How do I Register?
1. Obtain USA Wrestling Membership here search for "YC Wrestling" for the club to join
2. Register through the YCTC website
Registration Fees
All youth wrestlers and coaches must absolutely obtain a USA Wrestling card. Without this, we cannot participate in weekend tournaments. The card also provides extra insurance for your wrestler in case of injury. You can purchase your memberships on your own by vising the USA Wrestling membership webpage, or you If you want to renew your card or purchase a new membership on your own, you can do that here.
Cost Breakdown:

2. Club Fee: (60$)
3. We provide and rent singlets while supplies last. Shoes are not. You can buy wrestling shoes at big five, mac sports, and online.
What are the participation requirements?
All fees must be paid or payment plan agreed upon with the YCTC office staff. A sports physical is required for athletes 5th-8th grade. All individuals are required to obtain a USA Wrestling card and register through YCTC PRIOR TO getting on the mats (insurance purposes)
