COACHING LICENSES
Interested in becoming a coach? Want to gain more knowledge?
Once you complete your course, obtain a coach pass card, and coach a Kiel team at least one season, you will be reimbursed the entire fee!
YMCA coaches are required to have a background check and complete the Child Abuse online training. They are encouraged but not required to obtain any coaching certificates.
East Central coaches (U12-U19) as a member of Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association, required a biannual background check; completion of Concussion training and Player's Health (Safesport) annual training. You will also need to complete 1 or 2 Grassroots courses to coach. You must register through Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association for all coaching classes.

WYSA Coaching Licenses
To be eligible for the member rate for a course, participants should have, or have registered for, a WYSA pass card.
Participants must be at least 14 years of age.
East Central Coach License:
A team must be coached by an individual who is appropriately licensed for the age group and competition level being coached. If the coach is not appropriately licensed, that individual is not eligible to coach the team during sanctioned matches. All coaches, head and assistant, must be properly licensed. The following are the minimum license requirements per age and competition level:
- Coaches of 11U through 18U Classic teams are required to have completed the online free 20 minute Intro class and 2 In-Person Grassroots Modules, one must be 9v9 or 11v11 OR hold a US Soccer ‘E’ License
- Coaches working with 12U – 14U Competitive and State League teams are required to have completed the online free 20 minute Intro class and 2 In-Person Grassroots Modules
- Recreational coaches are required to have, at minimum, completed 1 In-Person Grassroots Module OR a Y1 or Y2 coaching certificate.
