Want to be more involved with the operations of the league? These volunteers are essential to making the games possible. If you like to be outdoors or like to do some physical work, these jobs may be for you. Remember that all AYSO volunteers are expected to provide about 16 hours of time for each soccer season.
Registration Worker
Registration workers are responsible for helping the Registrar during registration days. You must be available for either Spring or Fall registration dates as set by the Registrar. You review the forms as filled out by the parents, and work with the volunteer coordinator during registration events to ensure that everyone is assigned a job.
Field Layout Worker
This person works with the Fields Coordinator to lay out the initial lines at various fields. You are expected to assist with the initial field line painting, and assist with the re-layout of fields as required over the season for tournament needs or other reasons.
Field Painter Worker
This person works with the Fields Coordinator to paint the lines at various fields. You are expected to assist with the initial field line painting, and assist with re-painting the lines periodically over the season as required. You are responsible for learning how to use the painting equipment and ensure that it is put away properly after use.
Safety Worker
This person works with the Safety Director to ensure that the fields are safe for use. Under the Safety Director’s guidance you may need to do repairs to fields such as filling holes in the ground. You also ensure that equipment to secure goals is available. You check on the first aid kits to make sure they are complete and are deployed and put away on each game day. Depending upon the number of Cleanup Workers, you may be asked to work with them on cleanup.
Nets and Flags
This nets worker is responsible for the set-up and take down of all flags and moving goals off fields as necessary on game days at Congress Springs Park, and Redwood Middle School. Work time is early in the morning and late afternoons, mostly on Saturdays. During tournaments, some additional time will be required on Sunday.
Cleanup Worker
Cleanup Workers work with the Field Leads to remove trash and other hazards at the end of the game day. Trash pickup normally happens at 4:45pm unless otherwise scheduled by the Safety Director. Depending upon the number of Safety Workers, you may be asked to work with them on Safety inspections and putting away First-Aid equipment.
Snack Shack Worker (Fall Season only)
This person is responsible for working 4 four hour shifts on Saturdays at the snack shack located at Congress Spring Park throughout the Fall Season. Specific schedule of dates and times will be set up by the Snack Shack Director/operator.
Photo & Awards Worker/Director
This person works with the Purchasing Director to organize and run the Region's Picture Day, including development and distribution of schedules, assisting at makeup day, and distribution of the pictures. The Picture Day & Awards Worker also helps with all aspects of distributing awards at the end of the season.
Tournament Worker/Director (Fall Season Only)
The Tournament Worker works with the Tournament Director. The Tournament Director assigns duties to the Tournament Worker which include collecting cards from referees after each game, posting game results, and staffing the tournament table during tournaments.
