Covid-19 Update

Update 11/10/2020;

Broomfield has been moved to "Level Orange" meaning all organized sports have been cancelled for the remainder of the fall season.  We will continue to update membership as more info comes in and a return to play date comes into focus.  Please stay safe and healthy through the time away from the fields!

Update  9/24/2020;

September 24, 2020

Hello BSC families,

As you may have seen/heard, late last week CDPHE and the governor's office came out with formal guidance for organized sports.  In addition, many of our members will be returning to school over the next couple of weeks.  Due to these developments, we've updated our player, parent, and coach responsibility documents, which are linked at the end of this email.  The guidance for organized sports document is linked below as well.  Please understand that there are still different guidelines for different locations, and this adds to, but does not supersede any local requirements.

There are two key points to be aware of.  First, if your child is instructed to quarantine because of exposure at their school (or if they have been instructed to quarantine by public health or a health care professional for any other reason) this includes all soccer activities.  Receiving a negative COVID test does not override the need to quarantine.  Please keep them home and away from the team until the quarantine period is up.  Second, if your child does have a confirmed case of COVID-19, they may not return to soccer activities until they have received clearance from a medical professional.  This is a change from previous guidance and is meant to insure that they are likely no longer contagious, have fully recovered, and are medically capable of resuming participation with no lingering effects.

Please continue to mask up while at all games as spectators, and make certain that your child is wearing their mask while going to and leaving all practices and games, and while not actively participating.  This continues to be very, very important for us to be able to continue playing.

One last note for those with away games.  At many fields clubs are having teams sit on opposite sides of the field with their fans on the same side to allow for greater social distancing.  This has presented a challenge for referees who are unsure when substitutes are ready to come onto the field.  To fix this, CSA has requested that teams set up on the "right" side (if standing in the center circle, the side to the right, opposite the side that the AR is on).  Linked below is a diagram of the correct setup.  Please note, at all Broomfield Soccer Club home fields, we are keeping the same setup we've always used with both teams on the same side, as there's more room for social distancing of spectators this way.

As always, thank you for your help in following all guidelines.  Though they may not know it, all of the players truly do appreciate it!
