Extra Team Information 

WHAT IS EXTRA:  AYSO EXTRA™ is designed for players who have the interest, skills and abilities, and desire to enhance their experience and individual growth while retaining the spirit of the game and membership in AYSO.  All EXTRA programs embrace the Six Philosophies of AYSO.  Region 665 is running a side-by-side program. 

EXTRA Side-By-Side ~ Players are rostered on an EXTRA team only. Players are eligible for tournament, travel and other secondary program participation.

WHY: To answer the needs expressed by YOU, our executive members.  You told us the main reason players were leaving AYSO was to go find higher levels of play, skill advancement and competition.  The goal of EXTRA is to strengthen AYSO by recruiting and retaining players and volunteers through internal AYSO programs play that provide more competitive play The AYSO Way!  This program is not designed to nor must it be allowed to overshadow or harm the standard primary program.

WHEN: AYSO Region 665 has tryouts every year prior to the start of the season.  Players who interested must sign up at one of the AYSO registrations and sign up for tryouts at the EXTRA table. YOU must be a REGISTERTED player and TRY-OUT to be on an EXTRA team. Please see the registration page for specific dates and times.

OTHER INFORMATION TO KNOW

1.  All Players (new or returning) must try out again

·         Previous players are not guaranteed roster spot

·         Coach cannot hand pick players

·         Rosters are determined via Area Extra tryout guidelines

2.  Team requirements

·         3 referee team age appropriate (coaches cannot be part of ref team)

·         1 team manager

·         2 coach minimum, age appropriate at time of application

·         Coaches must apply each year

·         Coach is not assigned at time of try out

·         Extra Coordinator approval for all team agendas and activities- Cinnamon Olivarez

        (rosters, games, uniforms, trainers, etc.)   

3.  Final approval for everything at the discretion of Regional Commissioner.

4.  Code of conducts (player, coach, player), AYSO Kid Zone, Law of the Game, AYSO Bylaws, and National Philosophies will be upheld. 

·         Yellow card cautions will be upheld

·         Red card and sendoffs will be upheld and subject to additional sanctions

·         Repeated offenses will not be tolerated.  Coach, player, and spectator subject to further sanctions, suspensions and permanent removal.
