AYSO Region 665- Providing a Quality Youth Soccer Program in the Victor Valley

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BEING A REFEREE

If you are over the age of 12, we will be conducting Regional Referee Courses to certify those interested in helping our children. Please check the Courses page for information and the Calendar page for dates and times.

Please review our samples of the Front and Back of completed game cards to ensure that all areas are completed.

Note each of the following:

·         Indicate by "/" when a player does NOT start a given quarter.

·         Indicate by "GK" which player is goalkeeper in the first quarter box across from the player's name. If the goalkeeper is changed, indicate this change in as necessary in the box representing the quarter the change is made.

·         Place a hash mark for each goal scored in the appropriate box (1st half / 2nd half) next to the player's name who scored the goal.

·         Indicate on the reverse of the game card any disciplinary action taken and the jersey number of the player(s) involved.

·         Consult with the other referee(s) during halftime and at game end to record the halftime and final scores on the bottom of the game card.

·         Indicate by name or team number the winning and losing teams. If the game ends in a tie, write "tie" or "draw" and the opposing team number in place of the winning and losing teams.

·         All referees and assistant referees must print their names on the reverse of the game cards and turn the cards in to the referee station.

Region 665 appreciates ALL of its volunteer referees and their dedication to performing what we know is a thankless job. We couldn't do it without you!
