The college search process is an exciting, and often overwhelming, time in any high school students’ life.  For student athletes, deciding whether to pursue soccer in college and navigating the recruitment process adds a unique layer to their search.  Savannah United understands the importance of receiving soccer specific guidance throughout this transition and provides players and their families with access to our college counselor throughout the year at the email link below.  Personal email communication, along with monthly recruitment tips and scholarship information, provide families with comprehensive support specific to the soccer student athlete.  Helpful for those interested in any level of play after high school, the information provided is a reflection of the complete commitment Savannah United has to the development of our players!

Meet Your College Counselor!

College Counselor Anne Weisel is excited to share her eclectic background of college admission and high school counseling experience with the players and families of Savannah United.  Beginning her professional career working in college admission in the Northeast, Anne realized her interest in the field extended beyond the marketing of a specific school and more with the process of helping students find schools that were the right “fit”.  Pursuing a Masters Degree in Counseling and working for the past ten years in various high school settings has helped her to balance her knowledge of the admissions process with a firsthand understanding of what students and their families face throughout the college search process.  With an appreciation for all levels of post secondary choices and a belief that there is a college option out there for everyone, Anne advocates strongly for students to start their search early and to be thorough in researching to find the school that is the right fit for them. 

Married to Savannah United Coach Rob Weisel, Anne has developed a specific interest in working with the college bound student athlete.  Through his years coaching and training players at both the college and select levels, Rob has developed and shared with Anne an insider’s understanding for what is expected from the students who aspire to play beyond their high school experience.  Both Anne and Rob feel bringing this insight to the families of Savannah United along with the guidance of a professional school counselor is a testament to the value the club places on the families it serves. They feel proud to be a part of such a comprehensive effort to help develop successful student athletes!

Families have unlimited email access to our college counseling services at no charge to them.  This is something that Savannah United feels is necessary to our student athletes.  We want to help your children find that right college and find scholarships to help pay for it.

More extensive and personalized services are available upon request, but will come with a fee.
