Savannah, Ga: The Savannah United 2006 Boys Premier played in the top division (Classic 1) of Georgia Soccer’s State League and finished the season as champions. Playing against some of the top teams in the state, the 06 boys finished with 42 points out of a possible 50 points - with 8 wins, 1 draw and 1 lost.
Under the experienced leadership of Coach Evan Parker, this group of boys have grown tremendously together as a team and their hard work has paid off. In the fall, the 06 Boys Premier will be promoted to the U.S. Youth National League, where they will play against the top teams from Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina in the Piedmont Conference.
“Words can’t begin to really describe how special this group boys are to me,” stated Coach Evan Parker. “Their level of commitment to soccer, work ethic, and chemistry is very rare in a group of 13U boys.”
“As a coach I am very proud and humbled to get to work with this great group of players, we are a true soccer family and I am looking forward to watching these boy play in the National League and compete with the top teams in the region,” stated Coach Parker.
"The club is very proud of the 06 Boys Premier and their achievement of winning Classic 1 - becoming only the second team recently from the Savannah area to achieve this,” said Gary Wright, Executive Director of Savannah United. “We are excited the boys have now qualified for the prestigious National League. Coach Evan Parker and his team have worked extremely hard to get to this level, and fully deserve it!”
