FALL 2021 MARYLAND 4A STATE PLAYOFFS, FINAL 8

The State is divided into 8 "Regions", and schools will compete within their Region for a Regional Championship.  The 8 Region Champions will advance to the State Quarterfinals, and will be freshly-seeded 1-8 on the basis of their Regular Season records.  The better-seeded team in all games leading up to and including the State Quarterfinals will be the home team.  The State Semifinals (Gaithersburg HS) and State Finals (Loyola University, Baltimore) will be played at predetermined locations.

State Playoffs Format Summary
*All schools in the State are divided into 4 size-classifications (Wootton is in Class 4A, the "large school" category)
*Class 4A is broken into 4 geographic areas, West, East, North, South, (Wootton is in the Class 4A West)
*Class 4A West is broken into Region I and Region II (Wootton is in Class 4A West Region II)
*Schools compete within their Region for the Region Championship
*The State then re-seeds the 8 Region Champions, and the better-seeded team is the home team for the State Quarterfinals
*The State Quarterfinal winners advance to the State Final Four, which will be played at Gaithersburg HS
* The State Semifinal winners advance to the State Championship game, which will be played at Loyola University, in Baltimore
