ABOUT

Nearly 250 children participate in Sacred Heart CYO's recreational softball programs.  Our softball organization has a dual purpose of providing a quality recreational program as well as a competitive travel/tournament programs for those who strive to play at a more competitive level.  Our divisions include 6U through 14U and maintains an affiliation with Babe Ruth Softball.

Our footprint for softball covers all of the communities in the Rancocas Valley Regional High School district (Mount Holly, Lumberton, Hainesport, Westampton, Eastampton as well as Burlington and Pemberton Townships.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Sacred Heart CYO Softball program is to provide a safe and competitive environment for young players to learn and enjoy the game of fast-pitch softball.  We are committed to providing all girls with an experience that fosters positive self-esteem, team spirit and individual growth through personal achievement and team play.  We are dedicated to teaching softball fundamentals and life skills through good sportsmanship, leadership, positive coaching, and peer and parent communication.

Our goal is for each player to have fun while gaining knowledge of the game.  We strive to create and maintain an environment of teamwork, honesty and fair play with a secondary importance placed on winning.

All our volunteers work to achieve this mission. We believe our children are our most precious assets and represent the future of our communities. Through our involvement in their lives, we will strive to leave a positive, lasting impression.
 

GOALS

• Teach each girl the fundamentals of the game.

• Encourage development and good sportsmanship of all players through participation in a team environment
• For the players to have fun, make new friends, and grow as a member of a team.
• To help players become physically active and to value fitness in their lives.
• Win enough games to feel good about the team and the season. The league will make every effort to create balanced teams, allowing for the highest level of fair competition within each age division and ensuring that players feel good about their team and the season.
• To encourage continued participation by building a passion for the sport of softball.
• We strive to help coaches and parents focus on making the experience of practices and games fun, while helping the girls develop and mature as player and as people.
   
  Together, we all must demonstrate how to win with grace and lose with dignity.
