CORI Background Check
CORI background checks are required by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association (MYSA).
The design of the Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) laws and regulations in Massachusetts are to protect the public from exposure to potentially dangerous individuals with a criminal past. Organizations that serve vulnerable segments of the population such as MYSA are given limited access to information about prospective coaches, administrators, volunteers, and employees who may have a serious criminal history, and who may pose a significant threat to the children involved in youth soccer across the state.
Massachusetts state law mandates that MYSA and TAYSA have every adult volunteer, including referees, registered through the Affinity system. Even if you have filled out CORI for other organizations, you must register through the Affinity system.
Submitting your information is as easy as 1-2-3-4.
- Create a User Profile on the Mass Youth Soccer Adult Registration page.
- Complete the registration form on the Adult/CORI Registration page of the MYSA website.
- Be sure to enter Townsend Ashby Youth Soccer Association, rather than TAYSA, in the "Name of Organization" field.
- Submit a copy of the CORI Acknowledgement form and your current drivers license to TAYSA's Registrar ([email protected]).
Please Note: Even if you have completed a CORI Background Check through another town organizations this ONLINE FORM must be completed.
