TAYSA’S Referee in Training (R.I.T.) Program
TAYSA is pleased to offer a new R.I.T. program this season to train aspiring soccer referees. R.I.T. candidates will learn the basic officiating skills and apply these skills to the TAYSA’s In-Town, non -competitive U7 and U9 youth games.
Candidates will have an opportunity to develop their officiating skills during the 8 week In-Town season. Skills include pre and post game procedures, safety, starts and restarts, basic calls and hand signals. Mentoring and review of game performance will be provided.
Games will be held Saturday mornings between 8:00 am and 11:30 am
on April 18,25, May 2,9,16,30 June 6,13.
A TAYSA R.I.T. T-Shirt and black socks, will be provided to each candidate as the official uniform. (Black shorts, cleats, whistle, wrist stopwatch, paper and pen to be provided by the candidates). A stipend of $5.00 per game for each game card submitted will be provided at end of the season.
Requirements
Candidates must attend two training courses, tentatively scheduled for April 3, 2015– indoor, and April 11, 2015 – outdoor (weather permitting).
Candidates interested in the R.I.T. program need to be under 14 years old and be a TAYSA travel soccer player or have at least one year travel soccer experience.
Note: Limited number of enrollments are open for the R.I.T. program.
