Eileen O'Flaherty
Eileen is a certified Concept 2 UCanRow2 instructor.  She learned to row on The Banks of the Raritan as a member of the Rutgers University varsity women's crew team.  After a 25+ year hiatus from the sport, she became a masters rower and board member of North Carolina Community Sailing & Rowing and then its spin-off organization, North Charlotte Rowing.  Unable to continue training with the team following its relocation to Belmont, she co-founded LKN Indoor Rowing with Carla Jenkins.  Recognizing the tremendous benefits rowing has had in her life and the lives of her husband and three children who also row, Eileen is passionate about introducing the sport to others, especially adaptive athletes. Championships:  3rd Women's Light Varsity 8+ Eastern Association of Women's Rowing Colleges (EAWRC)1982. Contact Eileen at [email protected]

Meghan Reese
Meghan was introduced to rowing her freshman year of high school through Oklahoma Association for Rowing.  While there, she sat bow in the varsity eight, and lightweight varsity quad and four.  She also coxed the heavyweight varsity four and OAR’s lottery entry in the Head of the Charles Club eight.  After high school, it was several years before she found her way back to rowing.  In Texas she worked with RCTW juniors in The Woodlands.  After moving to North Carolina in 2013, she has coached mostly one on one but helped coach Belmont’s novice juniors in fall of 2014.  Most recently she assisted in closing out the Spring season for Belmont’s varsity crew on Lake Norman and wants to continue to foster the growth of rowing in the North Charlotte Area. Steve, owner of Schreiner Design, is a former Purdue University oarsman. Following graduation, he has remained involved with all aspects of rowing, including designing and building his own ergometer. Steve has been involved with numerous rowing programs including the startup of the Cincinnati Rowing Center in 1982 and organizing the first National Rowing Championship in 1983. Since moving to the Charlotte area in 1987, he was also involved with a small group of former college rowers that ultimately competed in the NC State Games and Head of the Potomac. Steve has been an avid sculler since 1995 and has competed in numerous regional rowing regattas. Contact Steve at [email protected]

Nancy Schultz
Nancy received her Concept 2 UCanRow2 certification in 2017 and her Vinyasa yoga instructor certification from the Asheville Yoga Center in 2005.  She began her yoga practice 18 years ago coupling yoga with her existing 35 year running schedule. She completed the New York Marathon and many half marathons before switching to walking a few years ago.  She was drawn to LKN Indoor Rowing because it offered the cardio workout she was missing without the joint stress of running. LKN Indoor Rowing is thrilled to offer a rowing and yoga combination class.

Gordon Smith

Colin York

Colin was a member of the George Washington University varsity men's crew team from 2008 - 2012. Seated in the first varsity eight for all four years, he helped his team to an impressive 15th place at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championship Regatta during his senior year.  A graduate of the Cannon School, he returned to North Carolina in 2012 to accept a position with Red Ventures.  Colin lives in Mooresville with his wife and young daughter.  While Colin enjoys coaching all ages and fitness levels on the erg and water, he is eager to get a teen program started in the LKN area. Assistant Coaches:
Paul Pattberg

Paul started rowing in 2012 and quickly caught on to the sport.  Having played tennis in high school, he appreciates the symmetry of sculling since he had issues with muscular imbalances.  His experience training to build his body to account for the torsion of a backswing, along with his military background and passion for fitness, make him a great addition to the coaching team.
