Early Development
With our Pre-Academy programming, we place an emphasis on children who are passionate about the game yet require a challenge above and behind the normal player of their age. Through a combination of coaching and activities which encourage the development of fundamental skills, there is no better time to reinforce those traits needed to be successful at the next level. While our competitive program begins at the 2014 (U-8) level, exceptional children who don't meet that requirement have been given the opportunity to play up. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Year-Round Program
Players who participate in our annual tryout process are placed based on the team which most closely matches their skill level and abilities. With a goal of finding the appropriate place for each player, this placement requires a commitment for the entire season (fall, winter and spring seasons).
Fall and Spring Seasons
Competitive teams participate in the appropriate division of local leagues in addition to tournament play. Traditionally, teams participate in three tournaments each season but this can also be based on their age. In regards to training, teams below 2007 (U-15) train twice a week, while teams above 2007 (U-15) train three times weekly when out of high school season, with the other season reserved for high school competition.
Winter Training and Leagues
Winter programming consists of two trainings per week (one inside, one outside) in addition to indoor league play. All indoor play takes place at the Kansas Rush office and indoor facility!
