About Us

About 3B Baseball

3B Baseball is a nonprofit, co-educational youth baseball organization that has proudly served the Bedford community and the surrounding areas of northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan since 1957. What began as a local league with just five teams has grown into a vital, family-oriented program that now supports nearly 1,000 participants annually, including children ages 5–18 and adults 18 and over who wish to continue playing the game they love.

3B is led by a dedicated group of volunteer board members, community leaders, and families, all united by a shared commitment to youth development through baseball. Our success is rooted in a "takes a village" mentality—where growth, development, and sportsmanship are foundational values.

More Than Just Baseball

At 3B, we believe in doing more than just teaching the game—we’re helping young people grow as athletes, teammates, and citizens. It’s not just baseball with 3B; it’s a journey of personal and collective growth. We learn, we compete, we support one another—and we strive to do baseball better every year.

Our family-first culture and deep support from local businesses and community partners allow us to keep programs affordable, accessible, and impactful.

Our Programs

We offer a wide range of baseball opportunities for all ages and skill levels, including:

  • Youth Recreational League (ages 5–18, co-ed – Spring season)

  • Fall Ball League (ages 8–15)

  • Adult League (ages 18 and older – Spring & Fall)

  • Competitive Travel Teams (5 teams)

  • Training Clinics & Skills Development (in partnership with local high schools)

  • Financial Aid for families in need

Community & Events

3B Baseball is based at the White Park Baseball Complex in Lambertville, MI, home to six diamonds, including two with lights for night games, plus a fully operational concession stand. We share our facilities with local softball and travel teams, ensuring broader community access.

Our events help build community and lasting memories. They include:

  • Mud Hens Day

  • Free Independence Day Celebration

  • MLB Pitch, Hit & Run

  • Fall Ball Pumpkin Bash

We also work closely with the Bedford Township Park Board to maintain and improve White Park, contributing to the beauty and sustainability of our shared community space.

Our Legacy & Future

With over six decades of impact, 3B Baseball continues to thrive thanks to its unwavering commitment to character development, teamwork, and community pride. From equipment upgrades and field maintenance to expanded programming and outreach, we are constantly evolving to serve our players and families better.

We love baseball—and we love what baseball can teach. At 3B, we don’t just build players. We build people.

Mission Statement

At 3B Baseball, we are dedicated to developing strong character, building community bonds, and instilling the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and perseverance in a positive and inclusive environment. Through skill development and coaching, we strive to meet each player where they are and help them reach their full potential on and off the field while ensuring that the love of the game is accessible to all. Our goal is to prepare players not only to achieve their baseball ambitions but to become well-rounded individuals who contribute positively to their communities.

3B Baseball Through the Years

Founded in August of 1957, 3B Baseball has had a historic ride of providing a fun, competitive element of youth baseball for Bedford and surrounding areas of NW Ohio/SE Michigan.

We have evolved over the years, starting as Bedford Boys Baseball, which was founded and organized by Bud (Arnold) Sherer in 1957 as an activity to fill the summers of area boys. On Sunday afternoons in the summer of 1957 area boys would meet at the ball field in Samaria under the supervision of Mr. Scherer and other fathers to play and learn the fundamentals of baseball.

The first game of the 3B league was played in 1958. The league’s five teams (90 boys) played their senior divisions games in Toledo and their minor and junior division games in Trilby. The league membership was headed by a Board of Commissioners. A mothers auxiliary to 3B was formed in 1960, lasting nearly a decade and offered a variety of social functions to area women.

One outstanding feature of 3B was that no area teams were in existence. Boys from all areas of the township were on all teams in order to promote better community respect, spirit, and cooperation.
