Kathy Gedney

Club SyrV Director






Kathy Gedney is the Club Director and co-founder of Club SyrV.   After a prestigious high school and club career in her hometown of Ohio, she was recruited to be a setter for Syracuse University.  Upon graduation from SU, Kathy played for a few years on the pro beach tour (then known as the WPVA) and an indoor pro league team, the Phoenix Sting.  

     Kathy started her coaching career as an assistant coach at Lake Forest College in Illinois until a move to Arizona in 1996.  In Arizona she coached the boys high school team at Desert Vista, being selected as Coach of the Year in 2000 and 2001.  Her 18U boys club team with Absolute VBC placed 2nd in Nationals.  

     A  few years later her family moved to Syracuse, where she and Karl started Club SyrV.  Now entering it's 13th season, Club SyrV has grown exponentially since it's first year with one team of young ladies all from the same school.  

     More than anything, Kathy loves Jesus and her four children, Annaleigh, Chase, Montanna and Ellianna, who are all growing up way too fast!!  She also enjoys traveling and spending time at the beach.  

      She is thankful for the many lasting friendships she has made all over the country and is looking forward to another year of impacting the lives of young people through the vehicle of volleyball.
