In order to comply with Little League International rules, HLLA must confirm that all players reside within out boundaries, that is, within the city of Harrisonburg. To do this, we are required to maintain copies of three forms of proof of residence for all families in our program each year.
We ask that you bring these to registration or, if you have done online registration, to bring documents that can be copied to any of the walk-in registration sessions, to skills evaluation, or to make other arrangements.
Residence shall be established and supported by documents, dated or in force between February 1, 2021 and February 1, 2022 from three of the following options to determine residency of such parent(s) or guardian:
Group One
- Driver’s License
- School Records
- Vehicle Records (registration)
- Employment records
- Insurance documents
Group Two
- Welfare/child care records
- Federal records
- State records
- Local (municipal) records
- Support payment records
- Homeowner or tenant records
- Military records
- Utility bills (i.e., gas, electric, water/sewer, phone, mobile phone, heating, waste disposal) -
Group Three
- Financial (loan, credit, investments, etc.) records
- Medical records
- Military records
- Internet, cable or satellite records
- Vehicle records
- Employment records
NOTE: Example – Three utility bills (three items from No. 10 above) constitute only ONE document.
There are some exceptions to these rules.
- Only one parent or guardian residing within HLLA boundaries is needed to establish residency. The other can live elsewhere.
- If a player participated in HLLA last season but has since moved outside of our boundaries, they are still eligible to play in HLLA.
- If a player resides outside of Harrisonburg's city limits but attends school within the city limits, they are eligible to play for HLLA.
