Harrisonburg Little League Association is implementing a Challenger Division for the upcoming 2015 season in cooperation with the Bridgewater Challenger program.

What is Challenger? A division of Little League Baseball for children ages 5-18 or up to 22 if still enrolled in school, who cannot safely participate in other baseball programs due to physical and/or intellectual challenges. Games are structured to support the success of all players. The focus is on having fun while learning the game of baseball.

No score is kept, everyone bats every inning, and each player is assigned a trained buddy who works to ensure safety and success.

There will be an orientation for Challenger division on Saturday, March 14 from 1-3 pm in the Waterman Elementary School gymnasium. You can meet your player's buddy, discuss the season, and run through some hitting and fielding drills. Pizza and drinks will be provided.

Since this is the first year of this program, we will only be offering registration for Challenger during our in person walk-in registration times. For more information, please go here.
