Welcome to Spartan Boys Basketball!

Registration is now closed.

The St. Edward boys basketball program is the only local sports program in Newark designed to provide young athletes, grades 2-8, for boys and girls* access to a high-quality, organized basketball program. Every Spartan athlete is given an opportunity for fair play in a competitive environment. The program promotes and teaches fundamental basketball along with life lessons in sportsmanship, spirituality, and service to others because taking care of each other is key to a successful future.

*NOTE: Girls who participate in the Boys CYO Basketball season during the Fall are not eligible to play in the Girls CYO Basketball season in the Spring.

St. Edward CYO Eligibility Requirements

IMPORTANT NOTE ON ST. EDWARD CYO ELIGIBILITY

To participate in the St. Edward CYO program, you must meet one of the following eligibility requirements as set forth by the St. Edward CYO board and the Oakland Diocese:

Enrolled as a student of St. Edward School
Enrolled in St. Edward Parish Faith Formation
Reside within the St. Edward Parish boundaries in accordance with the Oakland Diocese parish boundaries tool map here, as well as upload these documents:
1) Upload a copy of Birth Certificate if you are a new player
2) Upload a picture of your address from the diocese tool map
3) Upload a copy of current utility bill showing address within the St. Edward boundary

Game Schedules

Schedules will be distributed shortly before the start of league play in late October/early November.

Practice Schedules

Place: Newark Junior High School and/or Siliman Center

Days & Time: TBD. Practice schedule will be provided in early to mid-September after teams have been declared.

Coaches' Corner

SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING

ALL adults participating in CYO activities must complete diocesan Safe Environment Training. Only an adult who has completed this training is allowed to run practices.

TOURNAMENTS

There are various tournaments both preseason and during the season. If you are interested in entering your team in a tournament, please contact the St. Edward Athletic Director.
