Becoming A Coach At UFA
Coaches are crucial to having players enjoy the UFA experience.
Coaching children is a very rewarding experience and coaches are essential to the game. They teach children soccer skills and help develop a healthy, positive attitude, teamwork and good sportsmanship. Coaching is a rewarding experience because you have the opportunity to build a child’s self-esteem, help them learn new skills and just have a lot of fun.
Soccer coaching is an extremely gratifying and fun experience for anyone who has had any iprevious soccer nvolvement. Even if a coach is new to the sport and simply helping out a local team, the fast-paced game, team camaraderie, and ability to help develop young people is a draw for many coaches to keep at it.
*All UFA coaches must agree to a background check.
Recreational Coaches
Do you have little or no experience with soccer? No problem! UFA will assist and train you to make a difference.
A coach can be the most influential person in a child’s life. At UFA, Positive Coaching is a fundamental philosophy underlying the crucial role of a coach. Coaching at UFA is a chance to spend quality time with your own child but you’ll also provide an important role model for all the children on your team. In fact, the joy of coaching is so meaningful, that many coaches continue coaching long after their own children have moved on from the sport. Soccer knowledge is a plus, but UFA provides training and material so that even a soccer novice can coach effectively by starting in the younger age groups.
Being a coach involves skills you probably already have in addition to specific soccer knowledge. If you are uncertain, try being an assistant coach. Our Recreational Director and Age Group Coordinators will be happy to try to match you up with somebody with a little more experience.
Select Coaches
In an effort to constantly build on the quality and enjoyment of our program, we constantly seek coaches that are truly passionate for the game, have a positive approach to training, and contribute in developing a soccer culture.
At the youth level, coaching is primarily about teaching and inspiring youngsters to read and interpret the game. Because it is practically impossible to ’program’ your players to react in every possible situation, we want coaches that can promote creativity to improve performance.
