Little League® International provides an online resource page dedicated to baseball bat information. As of January 1, 2018, the USA Baseball Bat Standard (USABat Standard) was implemented. All bats used in the Little League Major Baseball Division and below must meet the USABat Standard. In the Intermediate (50/70) Baseball Division, players may use either USABat Standard bats or BBCOR bats.

Any Little League-approved baseball bats that were approved for use in 2017 are no longer allowed in any Little League game or activity as of January 1, 2018. For more information, see Little League Rule 1.10 – Baseball.

Softball

Little League Softball® requires bats to have a Bat Performance Factor (BPF) of 1.20.

Rule 1.10 – Softball: The bat must meet Little League specifications and standards. It shall be a smooth, rounded stick made of wood or an approved non-wood material. Length shall not exceed 33 inches (34 inches for Junior/Senior League), and the diameter shall not exceed 2¼ inches. For wood bats, the minimum diameter at the smallest part is 15/16 inch (7/8 inch for bats shorter than 30 inches).

Non-wood bats must display a BPF of 1.20 and may be taped or fitted with a sleeve for a distance not exceeding 16 inches from the small end. Colored bats are allowed. Non-wood bats must have a grip made of cork, tape, or composition material extending a minimum of 10 inches from the small end. Slippery tape or similar material is prohibited.
