Nazareth Soccer Club offers successful programs thanks to dedicated volunteers. Volunteers can perform a wide range of functions; it all depends on how involved you want to be. The majority of NSC volunteers are coaches for our Micro and Classic Teams, but we also have dedicated individuals that help with field maintenance, special events, and in Board positions.

Recently, 23 pieces of legislation were enacted, changing how Pennsylvania responds to child abuse. These changes significantly impact the reporting, investigation, assessment, prosecution and judicial handling of child abuse and neglect cases.
All volunteers, whether it's for NSC, Nazareth School District or other organizations where you volunteer and interact with children will be required to obtain a clearance.
Which clearances are needed?
All prospective volunteers must obtain the following clearances:
- Report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP); and
- Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse).
Additionally, a fingerprint based federal criminal history (FBI) submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent is not required if:
- The position the volunteer is applying for is unpaid; and
- The volunteer has been a Pennsylvania resident continuously for the past 10 years.
If you fall under the following circumstance, you do not need to complete the FBI Criminal Back Ground Check, you can complete the Act 153 Volunteer Affidavit.
Volunteers who are not required to obtain the FBI Clearance because they are applying for an unpaid position and have been a continuous resident of Pennsylvania for the past 10 years must swear or affirm in writing that they are not disqualified from service based upon a conviction of an offense under §6344. Please have the waiver notarized.
