AYSO Extra Program Information

EXTRA is a program that offers organized soccer for players who want to play at a more competitive level and still be a part of AYSO.  EXTRA gives athletes whose interests and abilities lead them to a more progressive soccer experience.  AYSO’s core philosophies are still in place: everyone on the team plays at least 50 percent of each game; selection to teams is based on open and fair evaluations; and the teams are chosen to create a competitive balance. You can feel secure knowing your players is part of a trusted organization and will be given fair playing time. EXTRA doesn’t take away from the regular program, but adds to the strength of the organization by keeping players and their families in AYSO.

Region 73 would like to expand upon its successful EXTRA program and wants to hear from coaches that are interested in running an EXTRA team.  The available age divisions are U9, U10, U11, and U12, for both boys and girls teams.   After the initial step of finding coaches, Region 73 will begin the tryout process.

The selected head coach and assistant coach of each team is required to be in good standing with Region 73, Area A, and Section 10.  Part of this requirement is for each head coach and assistant coach to possess the proper coaching certification in addition to current Safe Haven and CDC Concussion Training.
