CHYBA Coaching Requirements and Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in coaching for CHYBA! To ensure a safe and organized environment for our players, all CHYBA coaches (head and assistant) must meet the following requirements:
Youth Basketball Coaching Certification
- All CHYBA League coaches are required to be certified to coach youth basketball. Per the City of Cedar Hill, no coach will be allowed on the sideline without a valid MBR# on file with CHYBA.
- To become certified, please complete the training at National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) and obtain your MBR#.
- Upon receipt of your MBR#, email it to [email protected].
- Note: This certification does not grant permission to sit on the bench or gain free gym access unless actively coaching during a game.
League Badge Requirement
- All coaches (head and assistant) must display a CHYBA league badge before entering the gym and while on the sideline.
- Coaches without a badge will not be granted free access to the gym.
- To obtain your badge, email a headshot of each coach along with their name to [email protected].
Background Check
- All coaches must complete a background check before working with CHYBA.
- Submit your background check through this link: CHYBA Background Check.
Coaching Application
Coaching Packet Submission
- Coaches are required to turn in their completed coaching packet to CHYBA before the start of the season.
Coaches are required to turn in their coaching packet 5 days prior to registering a Team. Thank you for your dedication to supporting youth basketball and for meeting these important requirements. If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].
Sincerely,
CHYBA League Administration
