MVAA Cheerleading

Camps/Clinics

The MVAA hosts a variety of camps and clinics throughout the year.  This gives athletes at every age a chance to learn proper techniques of cheerleading and stay up to date with their skills.  All camps and clinics are open to non cheerleaders as well as veteran cheerleaders.  MVAA camps are also open to athletes outside the Middletown community.  The camp environment is filled with high energy, encouragement, and fun!  Check out our camp photo gallery for highlights of last year!

Pee Wee Camp-

Our Pee Wee Camp is for cheerleaders from K-2nd grade.  Here, cheerleaders work with head coaches as well as high school coaches to gain an age appropriate understanding of the sport.  Coaches use this time to get a jump start on the season by teaching new material that will be used such as cheers, chants, stunts, and a dance. Athletes are able to play exercise based games to learn cheerleading skills as well as their fitness level requirements.  A performance is scheduled the last day for family and friends to attend!  All participants receive a medal, camp t-shirt, and bow.  Cheer gear store is available all week before and after camp!

Dates - Monday, June 20 - Thursday, June 23; 9am-12pm

Athletes are rewarded all week for hard work!  The physical fitness aspect of cheer is explained and demonstrated through drills and exercises.  A performance and awards ceremony with trophies is scheduled at the end of the week for family and friends to attend!  All participants receive a t-shirt and bow.  Cheer gear store is available all week before and after camp!

Senior Camp-
The MVAA coaching staff hosts a camp for athletes ranging from 5th-12th grades.  Here athletes are taught the latest trends in cheerleading.  They learn new material that is used throughout the season as well as at their Heritage Day performance.  Athletes are encouraged to try new positions and new skill sets.  They are pushed to build bigger and better stunts every year.  It is a challenge that is well received and met year after year.  The camp is broken into stations, each concentrating on one aspect of cheerleading, including dance, stunts, tumbling, and fitness.  Athletes are awarded with prizes throughout the week for hard work!  At the end of the week a performance and awards ceremony with trophies is scheduled for friends and family to attend.  For the awards, this camp is broken into 2 brackets- Junior and Senior.  All participants receive a t-shirt and bow.  Cheer gear store is available all week before and after camp!
