Competitive Play with AYSO Philosophy
CLICK HERE FOR OPEN TRYOUT INFORMATION
Challenge Football Club (“Challenge”) recognizes the desire to offer an advanced soccer program for accomplished AYSO players. As the fifth largest soccer club in the state of Arizona, these players will be part of a club that seeks to increase their skills through play with and against more intense competition here in the state and out of state.
Additionally, it offers an avenue for current club players to tryout for and become part of a team and program that offers competitive soccer while enjoying the benefits of the AYSO Philosophies and fee structure. The Challenge program may include teams from U10 through U19 who will play in the Arizona Youth Soccer Association (AYSA) Open League or State League (for those teams that qualify for State League) alongside all of the other registered club programs in Arizona.
Challenge players will be selected for the teams through open tryouts being held by our region in early May. Only coaches that have been approved by the Region 1079 Regional Commissioner and the Area Challenge Director will be eligible to coach a team and offer tryouts. After team formations, teams will practice a maximum of twice per week in line with the AYSO core program and All Star program, but all games will be played against other club teams in the Open or State League seasons. Challenge teams may also fund for personal training and conduct additional team activities around their practice and game schedules. Essentially, Challenge teams and players enjoy the competitive environment of any other soccer club program with the added benefits of following AYSO philosophies at a much reduced cost.
Challenge teams may choose to play in club tournaments in the valley, outside of the valley, or even outside of the state as determined by the coaches and team managers. The season for Challenge teams will run from September to May each year and will typically include a minimum of 6 tournaments during this season as well as open / state league games and scrimmages as scheduled by AYSA or the coach.
If you want to increase your level of play and you are a dedicated player, tryout for a Challenge team.
