CLCF REGISTRATIONS

CLCF REGISTRATIONS

CLCF Track and Field is a non profit program that allows youths of ages 5-14 from RI to participate in a healthy life style. The athletes are introduced and able to compete in a relaxed environment that encourages dedication as equally as it does good sportsmanship. Runners are encourage to try various events, to go "outside their comfort zone", and challenge themselves.

CLCF outdoor track and field offers long distance and sprint training as well as field work. Field events include long jump, high jump, shot put, discus, and mini javelin. It is a great way for children to socialize, be healthy, and learn about competition in a safe environment.
CLCF offers free inter squad meets to all registered CLCF athletes. Runners can participate in sprints, long distance, hurdles, jumping and throwing events. All events are timed and measured and ribbons are given out to the top 8 finishers in each event.
The season runs from April until June. Practices are on Wednesdays and Thursdays nights for rec league and Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday for the race team. The meets are on Saturday morning the last three weeks of May and the first two weeks of June from 8:30 until 11:30 am.

Indoor track offers sprinting, distance, jumping and throwing opportunities. Practice takes place at the West Warwick Civic Center, three days a week. The entire facility is utilized as the runners are broken up into groups to complete their workouts. The groups are created from discipline being trained, ability and age.
Indoor track typically runs from the first week in December to the second week of March.
CLCF track also competes within the USATF sanctioned meets in New England and beyond.
CLCF hosts a meet at their home track at Cranston West. It is open to unattached athletes as well as teams. The cost is $25 and all registered CLCF athletes compete as one of their meets. There will be relays, field events and of course our traditional running events. It is open to athletes from ages 5-18. For more information, goto CLCFtrack.com

The complete  schedule is available at CLCFtrack.com under the schedule tab.

Available Registrations

Outdoor Track-Travel '25

Please note: For returning athletes, there is a new process to registering. You can decide if you want to order a complete uniform or just the singlet or just the shorts. I have attached a picture of the outdoor track and field uniform. There is a picture of the uniform with the compression shorts and there is a picture of the running shorts(not compression) separately. To order a new or part of a uniform costs extra. Every athlete is expected to have a full uniform for the racing season. Singlets and shorts run true to size for boys. Singlet sizes for girls are correct but the adult-size compression shorts run smaller.

Outdoor Rec Track '25

CLCF's Rec League track program is for ages 5-12 years old (5th grade). Middle school athletes are welcome but they should run with their middle school first if that is an option. The program is for experienced and first-time runners who want to be active, learn the different events of track, be part of a team, and have fun. In addition to running, your child will practice the hurdles, long jump, throwing the javelin (mini), and more. Practice takes place at the Cranston West track at 80 Metropolitan Ave in Cranston, unless the high school has an event/game at the field. If there is an event at West, then there will not be any practice. Practice days and times are Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7 pm. We try to start and finish on time, as everyone is busy as well as it is a school night for most if not all of the children.and it is a youth program.
In addition to the two, 1-hour practices, per week, each Rec League runner can participate in 2-3 CLCF track meets scheduled on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. At each of these meets, athletes will be able to compete and/or try the many different events that are offered at a track meet.
There will be a 4th meet, the CLCF Summer Showdown where all athletes can enter the meet for free. More details on how your child will be entered later in the season.
A preliminary schedule can be viewed at CLCFtrack.com, track page, and outdoor calendar.
Rec League track runs from Monday, May 14, 2025, until July 19, 2025.
New for this year! The season start date was pushed back to reduce the number of schedule conflicts that we face with the use of the facility for high and middle school track meets, West lax games, school graduations and award nights. It gives the children a chance to be active throughout a good portion of the summer. It ends the season on a high note with a fun and competitive track invitational, the CLCF Summer Showdown and is a great way to introduce new children to a structured track meet or keep experienced ones interested.
The cost is $80 per athlete. Please be sure to select the shirt (jersey) size when registering your child, to make sure they receive a properly fitting shirt.
Sorry, no refunds after May 19, 2025.
