Coaches Expectations

·         Provide a safe physical environment – inspect fields and equipment used for practices and games

·         Communicate positively – demonstrate that you have the best interests of the players, coaching staff, umpires etc

·         Red Cards - please make sure that you are filling out the scorecards completely and correctly. On the roster section you should include the players name and uniform number. At the end of each game please ensure that all information is accurate before the umpire submits it in. What is submitted becomes the official record of the game for scoring purposes.  Scorecards should be turned into our concessions area.

·         Teach the fundamentals of baseball – Emphasize the importance of the basic skills of throwing, catching, hitting and fielding and work hard at improving those skills.

·         Teach the rules of baseball – ensure that you are following our local minimum playing rules for all players on your team. * The playing rules for all divisions can be found on the home page under Site Links.

·         Field duties:

o    Set up is the responsibility of both home and visiting teams playing first game of the day.  Take-down is the responsibility of both home and visiting teams playing last game of the day.

o    Ensure that the dugouts are cleaned out after each game.

o    Please have your team parent remind the fans that the stands should be litter free after each game.

·         All coaches must complete a background check form and submit either in person or via email to league secretary. The link to the form can be located on our website home page on the bottom left under Site Links.

·         Complete Coaches Concussion Training
