FAQ

Is there a lot of travel with Elite soccer?

Locker Soccer Elite will stress localized play and minimize travel.

How much actual play time
will my child get on the field?

Emphasize 50% playing time for all players.

My daughter would like to be on the same team as her friends. Can you guarantee this will happen?

Locker Soccer Elite will prioritize keeping friends together on teams whenever possible. This becomes more challenging as players move into older age groups and team selection is based on ability and development.

How do Parent Coaches sign up or volunteer?

When is Registration due?

Registration will open soon after teams are announced. By signing up for an assessment you are reserving a spot and will be kept in communication about when registration opens. You will have the opportunity to review your team before registering.

What league will we be playing in?

We plan on placing the teams in the MOSSL program. The folks at MOSSL have also indicated that they will be forming a localized (Northwest) division to handle those teams that are looking for less travel than some other current leagues.

What days will games be scheduled?

MOSSL assigns each age group two days per week for games. This is typically a weekday and a weekend day. MOSSL is moving to an eight (8) game schedule, so there will be weeks when a team has two games and some weeks where teams have only one game. We usually have 7-8 weeks to fit these 8 games into the schedule. Each team will have a representative attend a scheduling meeting and design a schedule that is best for that team.

Do you have to attend all three assessments?

No! Having said that, however, the more opportunity we have to assess each child, the easier and better our decision will be.

Will children from Olentangy be placed with other children from Olentangy… and the same for Dublin?

I think that makes good sense whenever possible. This will be easier to accomplish for our U8 and U9 groups, but certainly we will try to do it for the older players as well. Also, we would hope to be able to train these teams in Powell whenever possible as well.

What fields will we use?

We play our games and train at Concord Township Park.  It is located at the intersection of Dublin Rd. and Home Rd.

What is the winter training plan?

As always, we encourage 3v3 play during the off season. Locker Soccer will plan on hosting events on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights during the winter months.

What days are the games?

MOSSL will assign a weekday and a weekend day that the various age groups will play their games. Each team will have a representative attend the scheduling meeting to fill out the schedule. This representative will use the input of all families on that team to help make a schedule that is palatable for the entire team.

How many games will we play?

All teams play an 8 game schedule per season within the MOSSL program. (This is an average of one game per week.) In addition, U9 and above teams will compete in the season ending MOSSL tournament.
