Getting Started: Required AYSO TrainingStep 1: Getting an A.Y.S.O ID numberIn order to use the on-line training resources you need to have an AYSO ID number:
You may register at www.eayso.org . Once you have registered, you will be sent your AYSO ID number.  If you have registered and do not know your AYSO ID number, login to www.eayso.org or you may request your AYSO ID number from the coach administrator, the CVPA or your division coordinator.  Please put "AYSO ID Needed" in the subject line of the email.Step 2: Safe-Haven TrainingThe Safe Haven program instructs volunteers in ways to provide a healthy and positive environment in which children can learn and enjoy the game of soccer. The training is required for all coaches and other volunteers in a coaching role, such as assistant coaches, team parents, and team managers who work with youth players or volunteer in ANY capacity within the region.Step 3: Division Specific Training for U8 and U10You must take the ‘classroom instruction’ and "Field Training for U8 and U10 coach certification. Division specific training starts at www.aysotraining.org

Remember, age-appropriate coach training, and Safe Haven Certification is REQUIRED to coach AYSO soccer. AYSO has a goal of 100% coach certification. Every coach or assistant coach must have the Safe Haven qualification and is strongly encouraged to attend the appropriate age-specific training. Even if you are an experienced soccer player, you must attend the coach training to be covered by the Volunteer Protection Act. The Safe Haven and Age-specific coach training courses need only be taken once, although anyone is welcome to re-attend to refresh their knowledge.

Most of the time at the age-specific training will be spent on the soccer field. Participants need not have had any previous soccer experience or coaching experience, but should be prepared to learn by doing. Participants should wear sports clothing (shorts rather than jeans are highly recommended) and bring athletic shoes or soccer shoes, shin guards, water, sun screen, a soccer ball and note-taking materials.
