Survey results, season update

Based on the responses of our survey we have decided to move forward and plan for a shortened De Pere Rapides Youth Soccer (DPRYS) season. The season would not begin until July and would run no later than July 30th (6-8 games). This is all contingent on state and local municipality COVID-19 restrictions allowing youth sports to take place.

If you do not want to participate and would like to cancel, please email [email protected] by noon on May 18th with the player's name(s) noted to receive a full refund. Requests for refunds after May 18th will not be honored as the board needs to have a reliable count on players in order to redraft our teams for the shortened season. All refunds for cancellations received by May 18th expect to be processed shortly after this deadline as refunds need to be coordinated with our registration provider.

For those of you that choose to take part in the shortened season, you will be refunded an amount proportional to the number for games that we are scheduled to play. Keep in mind that rain games are not made up and would not be calculated in your refund. Those who choose to participate in the shortened season will receive their partial refund in July. If COVID-19 restrictions will not allow us to play in July, you will be given a full refund.

There are a few things that we feel that you should be aware of regarding the shortened season. Players will not receive jerseys. Jerseys for the full season have been ordered and received. But we are expecting about a 30% reduction of total players this season due to cancellations. It would be an administrative nightmare to determine which team jerseys to keep and which to hold as many players are associated with specific sponsors. With that in mind we are holding the jerseys until next season and players will compete with pull over pinnies. We typically have up-front fees for the season, field lining & maintenance, training, equipment, etc., but did not consider them in the proportional refund as jerseys will not be provided. For U15 and U19 divisions there may be fewer teams to compete against as not all clubs will be participating at the Bay Lakes level. Also, the Tony Litt Tournament is unlikely to take place.

Thank you for your patience during this difficult time. It is our goal at DPRYS to provide you with a positive experience with hopes of being able to get some sort of season in this summer.

Regards,
DPRYS Board
