Prospective Football and Cheerleading Coach Information

Throughout the years RHAM has boasted a number of excellent Football and Cheerleading coaches who have generously shared their time, efforts and love of the sport with RHAM football players and cheerleaders. Their hard work and dedication have helped make RHAM the vibrant and exciting organization it is and will continue to be in the future.

The job of coaching is a demanding and challenging position, and each year the RHAM Board considers and votes on a number of applications from individuals interested in coaching. All coaches and assistant coaches must re-apply from year to year, therefore, if you are a returning coach/assistant coach or if you are new to RHAM and decide you want to give coaching a try, please follow the steps below.

Head Coach Applications

Update:  Head Coaching positions have been filled for the 2023 season.

If you are interested in being a Head Coach, a great place to start is reading the current RYFC Bylaws and to reach out to the Director of Football Operations or Director of Cheerleading Operations to ask any questions you may have and to get an idea of what the expectations of the position are. Next, applicants are asked to fill in the coaching application via the link below. If you are selected for a Head Coaching position, you will also have to submit to a background check.

Head Coach Applications & Submission Requirements

All prospective Head and Assistant Coaches are required to fill out an application. The applications are now electronic and will be submitted directly to the RHAM Board. A copy of your application will also be sent to the email address you provided in the application.

Head Coach applications will be accepted through February 8th, 2023. Once the applications have been reviewed, all applicants will be contacted by the Director of Football Operations or the Director of Cheerleading Operations to let them know the time and date of the League Meeting at which they will be interviewed.

At the appointed League Meeting, all Board Members will interview prospective head coach applicants and render a vote. Once votes have been tabulated, all applicants will be notified of the results. The newly elected Head Coaches will be posted on the RYFC website and announced to the organization as a whole.

Assistant Coach Applications

Update:  Assistant Coach applications are no longer being accepted for the 2023 season.  Please contact your team's head coach if you intend to coach this year.

If you are interested in being an Assistant Coach, it is also a great place to start is reading the current RYFC Bylaws and to reach out to the Director of Football Operations, Director of Cheerleading Operations, or the Head Coach of the squad you’re considering, to ask any questions you may have and to get an idea of what the expectations of the position are. Next, applicants are asked to fill in the coaching application (it is the same form for head or assistant coaches), via the link below. If you are selected for an Assistant Coaching position, you will also have to submit to a background check.

Assistant Coach Applications & Submission Requirements

All prospective Assistant Coaches are required to fill out an application. The applications are electronic and will be submitted directly to the RHAM Board of Directors as well as the appropriate Head Coach. A copy of your application will also be sent to the email address you provided in the application.

Once a decision has been made, the Head Coach or a RHAM Board member will make contact and inform you of the status of your application. Then, Head Coaches will reach out all their Assistant Coaches and begin planning for the upcoming season.

Coaching Administrative Information

Head Coaches do not have 'veto power' over which assistant coaches have applied to help their teams. As long as there are available assistant coaching positions open, applications for assistants will be considered. Just as players are asked to work together as a team, so is the coaching staff.

New Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches are asked to attend some or all registration nights to answer questions about their squads. Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches are encouraged and advised to meet ahead of the start of the season to adequately prepare for the season. To help in football play preparation, RYFC has purchased licenses for play-writing and film review software. Head Coaches should contact the Director of Football Operations to get password and license information.

All Head Coaches are required, and Assistant Coaches are strongly encouraged, to review the current SNEYFC Bylaws and understand and adhere to all playing rules and regulations within that document. If any coach is unclear about any information within the bylaws they should contact the Director of Football Operations, Director of Cheerleader Operations, or the RYFC League Representative for additional details.

Due to the time commitment involved in coaching, Head Coaches are exempt from all Guardian Participation Requirements for their coaching season. Assistant Coaches are exempt from some Guardian Participation Requirements for their coaching season. The Director of Football Operations or the Director of Cheerleading Operations will let each Assistant Coach know what requirements are being waived.

All Head Coaches are required to take a Concussion Training course. While not mandatory, all Assistant Coaches are advised to take a Concussion Course.
