Majors Division Overview

Majors Division (League Age 9-12)

What:  Majors is the highest division of McIntire Little League.  Majors is a highly competitive baseball division where teams compete in a 20-game regular season to win the League Championship.  The League Champion advances to represent McIntire in the Charlottesville City Championships.

When and Where:  The Majors season runs from Early-March through Mid-June with 20 regular season games played.  Parents should expect Majors teams to have 2 games each week with an additional 2 practices.  Prior to games starting, Majors teams practice 3-4 times per week.  Most games and practices are held at McIntire Park with occasional practices held at various other baseball fields in the Charlottesville area.

Who:  The Upper Minors division is designed primarily for league age 10-12 players (generally 4th-6th graders).  The division could be appropriate for highly skilled league age 9 players (generally 3rd graders).  All players interested in Majors, excluding returning Majors players, are required to attend the Majors try outs.  All players are drafted by a Majors manager and will be on that Majors team for as long as they play in McIntire Little League.  Due to the draft process, the league does not consider any teammate requests for the Majors division.
