BAYAA 7-on-7 Football:

We offer a 7-on-7 Football program in the Spring which is a pass-only, limited contact, touch football, which focuses on the skill positions: Quarterback, Running Backs, Wide Receivers on the offensive side of the ball, and Cornerbacks, Safeties, and Linebackers on the defensive-side. Many players participate in 7v7 in the off season to be better prepared for the tackle season, as it gives players and coaches the opportunity to work on passing and pass-defense schemes without the offensive/defensive line.

Some coaches notice that the players who do participate in 7v7 leagues in the off season tend to be more prepared than those who do not when tackle season comes around. Based in the Lake Norman area, our teams will play against other teams in Iredell County. 

Brawley Area Youth Athletic Assoc. believes that character development is an essential element of sports. Caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith are valued on and off the field. We put safety first and emphasize positive competition. Brawley Athletics are for all and played for fun with a great competitive balance. 

Family involvement is encouraged. Parents become part of the Brawley Area Athletic family and enjoy supporting their children together at practices and games. Parents and friends can also be helpful as volunteer coaches, officials and timekeepers. Learn more about volunteering here!

Spring Registration Details:

Registration will open Jan 28th, 2023 and run through March 2nd, 2024. Sign-ups are on a first come, first serve basis. Registration fee is $75. If the division requires a BAYAA-supplied helmet, there will be an additional deposit collected at the time of distribution.

Our Spring season typically runs from March through Mid-May depending on playoffs. Practices are typically held once per week and will vary based on coaches decision/availability. Games are typically played on Sundays at MHS, Lake Norman HS, or South Iredell High School.

Divisions:

11U = Must be 11yo or younger by Mar 1st, 2024 (*an 11yo 6th grader would play in the Middle School division)
Middle School (6th-8th Grade) = For middle schoolers; this division is based on grade (the intention will be for teams to be formed based on school attended, i.e. The Brawley School, Woodland Heights Middle, Lakeshore Middle, Pine Lake Prep, etc. in order for teammates next fall to get experience playing with each other).
