Rochester Youth Soccer Association (RYSA)

ABOUT_
Rochester Youth Soccer Association (RYSA) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization staffed solely by parent volunteers that provides opportunities for children and young adults between the ages of 3 and 18.  We are committed to supporting the physical, mental, and emotional growth of youth in the Greater Rochester area by providing local quality soccer programs and developing excellent coaches.

We’re currently offering sponsorship opportunities to local businesses, families, and individuals for the 2019 Spring, Summer, & Fall soccer season.  Throughout the soccer year, we’ll give nearly 700 children and their families a safe and professional home to enjoy soccer.

For those interested in sponsoring our RYSA program in 2019, please contact us at: [email protected].

Thank you for your support.  We look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Message to Parents!_

Attention to all the RYSA Rec soccer players and parents,

We need your help.  RYSA needs a couple of volunteers to help organize our Fall Recreation Soccer Program. If no one steps up, there is NO Fall Recreation Soccer.

Would you like to see your son or daughter playing on our travel teams?  How about Middle or High School teams?  Those players start at the Recreation program.

RYSA Recreation Soccer is a great way to get involved with the community and the organization. The Fall Recreation Program is our Saturday skills sessions that introduces and engages approximately 100 players, ages 3 to 8, to the game of soccer during the 7 weeks in September and October.

Our program is well established with proven lesson plans and scheduling.  We need a person or ideally 2 people who are organized, focused and willing to commit a few hours for few weeks this summer and fall.  This position requires a fair amount of prep work to group players and parents but after a couple of weeks on the grass, it tends to run itself.

While knowledge of soccer is helpful, it is NOT necessary.  You do not need to be a pro.  You do not need to be a player.  We are teaching basic skills, drills and rules while creating a positive environment in which every child gets an opportunity for numerous touches on the ball.  You do need to be organized.  You do need to be engaged with a positive personality.  You do need to be able to delegate.

This task does require recruiting parents to assist with occasional tasks on the field.  You do need to be willing to ask for help.

Our current Board of Directors and Travel team coaches are here to help and assist. On a similar note, we are looking to add representation from our Recreation parents onto the RYSA Board of Directors.  We are a volunteer group of 7 people who enjoy bringing soccer to Rochester.  Our kids started in Rec and play on travel with a couple Board members with kids in high school.  Eventually, they will out of the programs and we need to pass the organization on and need more engagement from younger families.
