Our Summer Recreational Program will open for registration in late winter and start the week after school ends! Please check back!

We are one of the only summer soccer programs in the state of NH.  RYSA Summer Soccer is a recreational level program which runs from late June through Mid-August for ages 3-4 (Little Kickers), 5-9 (Academy Program), U12, U14, and High School teams.

We are seeking one or two Summer Program Coordinators to run this program. Our Board will be there to support you. Please let us know if you are interested in learning more. Contact any Board Member for more details.

We will also need plenty of parent volunteers to run this great summer program! You can sign up to volunteer when registering your child or children.

*Note we do not plan to offer a Spring Recreational Program at this time due to a shortage of volunteers and resources. If you are interested in leading and coordinating this program, please contact any Board Member for more details.

Thank you for your support!

2020 RYSA Summer Rec Soccer

RYSA is one of the only soccer clubs in the state that provides a summer soccer program. This is for ages 3 all the way up to High School players.  The entire program is a Monday through Thursday only with Friday through Sundays off.

Our Little Kickers program is designed to introduce our youngest players to the basics of soccer and practice movement skills.  The participation of a parent is required at this age.

Our U6, U7, U8, U9 and U10 groups are RYSA's Academy Program and are all about continuing the development of individual skills with the addition of games on Thursdays.  U12 will have practices towards the beginning of the season and will progress to a full game schedule with two games a week.  There may be one week where you have three games.  Our high school divisions are a game only format and each team typically plays 2 games a week.

This year U12 and U14 will have the addition of practices before the game schedule begins.  This will give the team a small opportunity to gel and players to get a basic understanding of team formations and concepts.  Practices will be organized and run by each teams coach.

High School is a scrimmage/game only format.

Please remember to open and read EVERY email from RYSA.  This is one of the only ways to keep all parents and players up to date with possible changes and very important information about your season.  I realize that there can be a lot of emails but it is so important to read each one.  Please don't unsubscribe as this will prevent you from getting any email from us.

Don't forget to text RYSAREC to 84483 for our weather alert system.  Signing up will allow you to receive emails, texts or both in the case that we have to cancel due to weather.

Division Information

New and Important Information on Age Divisions and Academy Soccer

If you are wondering why your child was placed in a particular age division please follow this link and read the reasons why. US Soccer has changed how we organize divisions. It is now based on birth year and not the child’s age as of July 31st (school year).
If you are wondering why we use an Academy program for the younger ages please follow the link and read about how this format leads to greater skill development and is fun at the same time.

Born 2016 (U5) Little Kickers

Little Kickers is led by a professional coach. Parent involvement is required and must be present on the field with your Little Kicker at all times. Little Kickers is once a week and focuses on gross motor skills and is an introduction to the basic skills used in soccer.

Born 2015 (U6) Academy

Our Academy program is led by a professional coach. We have volunteer coaches work closely with the lead coach to follow a predetermined and developmentally appropriate curriculum. They will have one 60 minute practice and one game day per week. You will always be on the same team with the same coach for your practice but the team your child plays on for a game will change from week to week. This allows flexibility to challenge each player appropriately leading to faster development.

Born 2009 (U12)
This is an important transition year as many of the players will be transitioning from the Academy Program to more formalized games following the basic laws of the game including a referee to enforce rules.  This group actually has one practice the week prior to the summer season officially beginning.  The first week we will have a second practice and then will end the week with an official scrimmage against another team.  This group typically meets twice a week, with an occassional third meeting, depending on the number of teams we have.

Born 2007 (U14)
Practices at this age is at the discretion of each coach and most may show up a bit early to run some skills and drills. This is a chance to keep your soccer form through the summer or just come out and get some exercise. You will play two games a week.

Summer Schedules – U12, U14 and HS Upper Divisions

They are now posted.  Scroll to the top of this webpage and click on Team Central.  Once there use the drop down menus to find the current season (Summer 2017) and division (U12, U14 or Highschool).

Equipment
The only mandatory equipment is shin guards and socks to cover them. As players get older cleats become more important but not necessary. Additionally some players choose to wear a mouth guard.

Cancelling Practices or Games due to weather:
From time to time we need to cancel a practice or game due to weather. We follow NAIA protocol. If we hear thunder we wait half an hour and see if conditions improve. We play in the rain and do not play if there is standing water on the fields. To keep up to date on cancellations please sign up for our text based alert system by texting RYSAREC to 84483
