The following provides an overview of the divisions offered at NALL. The ages referenced are guidelines. Players older or younger than the age recommendations below may be placed in a division.

T-ball (4-5 year old's):
Focus: To introduce players to the game of baseball and begin to teach the fundamentals of the game.
• All players hit off of a T in a continuous batting order each inning
• No scores or standings are kept
Draft: There is no draft in the T-Ball Division. Players are assigned to teams.
Minor A (6-8 year old's):
Focus: The Minor A division focuses on the fundamental skills of hitting, throwing and catching while introducing additional elements of the game.
• Pitching machine is utilized for consistency
• If a player strikes out they hit off of a T
• 5 inning game
• No standings are kept
Draft: There is no draft in the Minor A Division. Players are assigned to teams.
Minor AA (7-9 year old's):
Focus: The minor AA division continues to reinforce fundamentals while focusing on additional elements of the game including pitching.
• 6 inning game with 4 run limit per inning
• Season begins with machine pitch and migrates to kids pitching
• After 4 balls from a kid pitcher the at bat is finished with the machine
• Strikes count
• No stealing or walks
Draft: There is no draft in the Minor - AA Division. Players are assigned to teams.
Minor AAA (8-11 year old's):
Focus: A competitive play division where kids pitch the entire game. Standings are kept and there is a playoff to determine a champion.
• Previously branded as the 'Minors' Division
• 6 inning game with 4 run limit per inning
• Strikes count and walks occur
• There are no leads and runners can steal only after the ball reaches the batter
• Games are played at the VFW field and Midway LL
Draft:
• Players in the AAA Minors are selected to a team through a draft
• Players are drafted each year
• Players who played in Minors AAA the previous year and are not drafted into the Majors will play in the Minor AAA division.
Majors (10-12 year old's):
Focus: A competitive division in which kids pitch and scores and standing are kept. The division has playoffs as well to determine a champion.
• Games are six innings long
• There are no leads and runners can steal only after the ball reaches the batter
• A batter can run on a dropped third strike if first base is unoccupied
• Games are played at the VFW field, Midway LL and Canal LL
Draft:
• Players in the majors are selected to a team through a draft
• Once a player is selected to a majors team they remain on that team through their 12 year old season
• 11s who are not selected for Majors will be eligible for the AAA division
• 10s who are not selected for Majors will be eligible for the AAA division
Juniors (13-14 year old's):
Focus: A more relaxed non-competitive play division focusing on transitioning players to become acclimated to playing on fields and rules used at a secondary school level. Competition is against other leagues in New Castle County.
• Played on a 60-90 foot baseball field
• Games are 7 innings long
• There are leads and runners can steal at any point
• Games are played at Hill Field and other fields across the Northern portion of New Castle County
Draft: There is no draft in the Juniors Division. Players are assigned to teams.
Seniors (14-16 year old's):
Focus: A competitive play division focusing on furthering players opportunities to play against advanced competition. Competition is against other leagues in New Castle County.
• Played on a 60-90 foot baseball field
• Games are 7 innings long
• There are leads and runners can steal at any point
• Games are played at Hill Field and other fields across the Northern portion of New Castle County
Draft: There is no draft in the Seniors Division. Players are assigned to teams.
