WHY COACH AT BONITA MATRIX?

Bonita MATRIX is a competitive soccer club that provides a higher level challenge for players who possess the appropriate interest, skills, and abilities. Matrix maintains the AYSO Core values that include: Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, and Player Development. We focus on fun, teamwork, and developing strong soccer skills. We are actively looking for experienced coaches. Teams play Presidio soccer league (PSL) and San Diego Developmental Academy (SDDA). Coaches select which tournaments they want their teams to participate in during tournament seasons. Coaches select players at tryouts held in January for U10 to U15 and March for U16 to U19 teams.

COACH REQUIREMENTS

To coach with Bonita Matrix, coaches have to: 

• Complete the Bonita Matrix Coach Application form
• Be registered as a volunteer with AYSO Region 116
• Be AYSO Safe Haven certified
• Be Concussion Awareness CDC certified
• Be in good standing with the Region 116, Area S, Section 11 and National AYSO
• Be approved by the Matrix Coach Director Anthony Johnson and Selection Committee
• Be evaluated and renewed each membership year

Training: Coaches and Assistant Coaches must complete the following minimum training below, which may be satisfied after submitting the coach application as long as the certifications are obtained prior to the start of the presidio season:

• AYSO Trained coach at the appropriate age level
  • U10 to U12: U12 Coach
  • U13 to U14: Intermediate Coach 
  • U15 to U19: Advanced Coach
• U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF): Age appropriate
• Safe sport
