2023 Registration Info

Here are a few very important points the program and registration.  

The program, which begins around August 1st and runs through mid-November, is open to boys & girls ages 5-14.

Football:
A Team/Seniors:  12 - 14 years old – Born 1/1/2009 – 6/1/2011 (Cannot be in high school)

B Team/Juniors:  10 – 12 years old - Born 6/1/2011 – 6/1/2013

C Team/Micro:  8 – 10 years old - Born 6/1/2013 – 6/1/2015

D Team/Peewee:  5 – 8 years old - Born 6/1/2015 – 6/1/2018      

Cheer:  Based on 2023/2024 School Year
A Team/Seniors: 7th & 8th grade

B Team/Juniors: 5th & 6th grade

C Team/Micro: 3rd & 4th grade

D Team/Peewee: K, 1st & 2nd grade


The costs for this year's program are as follows:

   First Child Football:   $ 250 ($200 Registration + $50 Volunteer Deposit) 
   First Child Cheer: $ 200($150 Registration + $50 Volunteer Deposit)
 * Second Child Discount off First Child Registration Rate ($ 50) (No Additional Deposits)
 * Third Child Discount off First Child Registration Rate  ($ 75)  (No Additional Deposits)
   Volunteer Opt-Out Rate $150 ($50 Volunteer Deposit + $100 Additional Opt-Out Fee)

* Family discounts apply only to immediate family members that reside in the same household and are subject to verification.


Volunteer:
The EFL is a non-profit organization that depends on volunteers to be successful.  Each family involved in our organization is required to volunteer for three (3) shifts during the season. New this season is the ability to pay an additional $100.00 during registration to opt out of all volunteer required volunteer shifts.

Families will be able register online for volunteer shifts 
These shifts include helping in the concessions stand, selling 50/50 raffle tickets on game days, helping with field set-up and tear-down, and various other 

Each family is required to pay a $50 volunteer deposit at the time of registration.  Refunds are distributed at uniform return at the end of the season.
 

Participation in fundraiser:
Each participant in the program is required to sell tickets for our annual raffle, which awards four (4) cash prizes totaling $1000.  Tickets are $5 each, and come in books of 10.   Each participant is required to sell at least two (2) books of tickets (valued at $100).  Families with multiple participants will be required to sell no more than four(4) books of tickets (valued at $200), regardless of the number of siblings in the program.

ALL ABOUT UNIFORMS:

The Ellington Football League supplies most of the uniform components for both football players and cheerleaders.  Unless otherwise noted, these uniforms are the property of the League and must be returned immediately after the end of the season.

Uniform distribution for the 2023 season will be held late July.  You will be contacted with the exact date and time your team is to arrive at the field.

 Football Items supplied by the EFL:
 * Helmet
 * One (1) mouth guard
 * Shoulder pads
 * Rib vest
 * Girdle
 * Belt
 * Hip pads, thigh pads, tailbone pad, knee pads
 * Practice pants and jersey
 * Game pants and jersey

Football Items not supplied by the EFL:
* Cleats:  Should be a youth football cleat.  No baseball, soccer cleats or metal spikes are allowed.
* Socks:  Can be any length, but should be black in color.                
* Athletic Cup:  Must be worn at all time during practices and games.
* Gloves:  You should check with your child's coach before investing in gloves.  Few positions benefit from their use.
* Mouth Guard:  The EFL supplies one (1) mouth guard at equipment distribution.  It is common for players to go through 2-3 mouth guards each season.  You can purchase additional mouth guards at the Concession Stand, or at any sporting goods store.   Parents are strongly urged to have a spare mouth guard on hand (especially on game days) as they can easily become detached and lost.

Cheerleading items supplied by the EFL:
 * Skirt
 * Vest
 * Warm up jacket and pants
 * Long sleeved shirt
 * Hair bow

Cheerleading Items not supplied by EFL:
* Sneakers:  Must be the same as the rest of the squad.  Fitting and purchase details will be communicated by coaches.
* White No Show Socks
* Black Boy Shorts or Bloomers                 

UNIFORM RETURN POLICY
Each family is required to pay a Uniform deposit at the time of registration.  All uniforms and equipment items must be returned in a clean condition on the designated Return Date to the equipment shed at Robert Tedford Park.  Any uniform not returned in a clean condition or equipment item not returned will result in forfeiture of the uniform deposit..  Parents are responsible for the replacement cost of any un-returned items, which can be as much as $500 for football and $300 for cheer.

Coaches are not responsible for collecting uniforms, nor can they refund uniform deposits.
